Hi! I am a fourth-year B.Tech Computer Science student pursuing an honours in Computer Vision at
IIIT-Hyderabad . I am advised by
Dr. Jawahar
C. V. and have
wonderful friends and collaborators at our lab,
CVIT.
At CVIT I am currently working on a research project in lip reading, advised by
Dr. Vinay P. Namboodiri and
Dr. Jawahar
C. V. . We have developed personalized models for sentence level lip-reading, with a focus
on Deaf speakers, who have difficulty speaking but can still mouth the words, with very unclear /
inaudible speech. To test our method and enhance lip-reading accessibility for the Deaf community, we
also curated a novel dataset for this Visual Speech Recognition (VSR) task, including
out-of-distirbution deaf and accented speakers. Here we are working on developing a
zero-shot TTA model for personalization.
Along with this, I am engaged in an Independent Study in the robotics lab of our college,
RRC under
Dr. K. Madhava Krishna. Here I am
working on developing a system for real-time path planning in autonomous vehicles, prioritizing only
essential vehicle interactions,
to reduce the computational complexity of the system.
In a seperate research thread under
Dr. Charu Sharma and
Dr.
Avinash Sharma,
I am also exploring interpretable compressing techniques in 3D Gaussian Splatting (GS) models by
exploiting repitions and symmetries in a scene.
As a part of our course project, me and my friends worked on a very interesting project, implemneting
this
great work by Abe
Davis, where we were able to simulate the movement of any object response, to any virtual force,
without knowledge its material properties. Definitely worth checking out :). A recent follow up work by
google research
got the
CVPR best paper
award for their work on generatively predicting the future of a scene.
When I'm not doing research, I love playing chess. I follow chess tournaments and have a FIDE rating of
1730. I'm part of the IIIT Hyderabad Chess Club and have represented the college in many tournaments.
Think you can beat me?
Challenge me on lichess (lichess >>> chess.com 😉)
